Easter eggs and bonnets!

World book day

We have had a fantastic day celebrating world book day. We enjoyed dressing up and talking all about our favorourite books!







Shrove Tuesday

Today we ate delicious pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. We learnt all about why we do this and know that Lent starts on Ash Wednesday.

3d Egyptian Model Process

Ancient Eygpt
During the Hoildays we created some 3D models or a piece of artwork related to Ancient Epygpt.On Thursday 25th February our parents and carers came to see our fantasic creations.

Mr Weaver came to the school and answered our questions about he bible, and whta inspired him to be a priest.


 
Visit to Selby Abbey

As part of the RE Topic, we vistied the abbey to see the beautiful stain glass windows; they were pretty unique and amazingly pretty. They really inspired us :-)
 
Lately, a class of visitors came to our school from Escrick primary school. They are our year 3 French penpals and we often write to them. When they came to visit we introduced ourselves in French! We  played some fun games... our favourite was called onze :-)

Bondgate Community Woodlands

Today we went to Bondgate Community Woodlands in Selby to plant some new hedges! Although it was a bit chilly, we had a fantastic time and learnt about different parts of a plant. We also looked at the bio-diversity of the woodland
 
A couple of years ago, our school planted the first trees there. There are now over 4500! You can read all about it on thir webpage...

We have had a great first week back at school! Today Matthew did a presentation all about his AMAZING collection of Egyptian toys. He taught us a lot of new information and answered our questions too! Thank you Matthew! :-)
